Takaaki Itoh is recognized as one of the pioneers of the new generation of techno music in the Land of the Rising Sun. Since 1994, he has been responsible for the biggest events held in northern Japan, with Detroit-rooted techno as his main influence.
Itoh's references are numerous and diverse, but the most notable include UR, Derrick May, Axis, Hardfloor, Harthouse, Warp, and Rising High.
Takaaki Itoh began his career as a producer in 1996, releasing music on the British label Electracom, where he collaborated with Damon Vallero, Inigo Kennedy, and Hiroaki Iizuka, quickly gaining global recognition.
In recent years, he has toured Europe, showcasing his unique and distinctive sound—never before heard on the continent. He has performed in Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovakia, Spain (where he is particularly requested in the north for his intense sets), the Netherlands, Hungary, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Yugoslavia.
Since 2002, he has run his own label, Wols, where he has collaborated with Spanish artists Óscar Mulero and Christian Wünsch for remixes of the track Cry Of State Desperation, included in the second release of his label.
