Unrilis presents a collaborative raw and hypnotic techno EP by Fractious and Namhar. Working together for the first time, Fractious and Namhar live on opposite sides of the globe. Fractious is a Northern Irish artist from Belfast, Namhar is an Indian artist living in Guwahati, and both are making their Unrilis debut. Fractious heads up the RAW WORX record label, which has been a regular outlet for his own music, but he has also featured on other respected imprints such as Christian Smith’s Tronic, Kaiserdisco’s KD RAW, and Harthouse. Namhar first made contact with Fractious when releasing an EP on RAW WORX, which led to a mutual respect for each other’s music and inspired them to collaborate. Namhar has also worked with other imprints ranging from Diffuse Reality to Trapez. “Hypnotic Haze” is the EP’s title track, and it opens the release with bleeping melodies and sweeping dystopian pads stretched over fast-paced percussion. “Tectonic Echo” has pitched tom drums and rhythmic synth stabs forming a stripped back groove with rumbling low-end frequencies. “Voltage Veil” closes the release with trippy acid synths and the high-velocity energy of raw percussion.
