Cristian Varela remains true to his eclecticism, solidly combining the textures of contemporary electronic music with edgy analogue synthesizers, atmospheric pads, chunky drums, industrial patterns, organic layers and of course, the energy of mighty techno sounds his extensive career is so rooted in. The Spanish Techno-legend (now based in London) attested once, and talking about the relationship between the ‘sound’ aspects of music and the ‘composition’, that “there is a great connection between sounds, creativity and production. Ideas sometimes come through modulation or just transforming a sound … suddenly after the metamorphosis, a track comes into my head like inspiration.” That’s how the new album is a dynamic carousel, a twelve track trip meandering between various shades of concepts and distinctive moods.
