Loose Records presents a hypnotic techno EP by Filip Xavi that has raw sounds and deep atmosphere. Filip Xavi is a Serbian techno artist who joins Loose following music on other respected techno outlets such as Bas Mooy’s Mord, Pfirter’s Mindtrip, Abstract Division’s Dynamic Reflection, and many others of equal calibre. His sound has modulating analogue synths that create trippy ripples over stripped back percussion with a gritty aesthetic. He is making his debut appearance on Loose Records, which was recently relaunched with a focus on abstract techno with dance floor appeal and immersive atmosphere. The imprint was originally founded by the late Rino Cerrone, and continues to represent his innovative approach to underground techno. “Origin I” opens the release with a mesmerising synth line that swells with tension as the track unfolds with building intensity. “Origin II” has a digitised lead sound that creates a dystopian vibe, and “Origin III” closes the release with an upbeat groove that has pulsating synths delivering a hulking sound.
